About The Position
Weekly Pay Range - $2121 To $2357 Job Title : Medical Laboratory Scientist Job Specialty : Clinical Laboratory Services Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Evening 8 5x8 Hr Guaranteed Hours : 40.
00 Experience : Minimum of one year License : MT(ASCP) or CLS (ASCP) Certifications : ASCP certification required Must-Have : Bachelor's Degree Job Description : Perform and interpret designated laboratory procedures.
- Conduct serologic, chemical, bacteriologic, immunohematologic (blood bank), and microscopic procedures to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
- Execute accurate and appropriate testing on laboratory specimens / collections according to established laboratory protocols and procedures.
- Report results in a timely manner.- Troubleshoot instruments, equipment, reagents, and patient specimens / products problems using standard laboratory techniques as required.
- Perform laboratory quality control, including reporting discrepancies and troubleshooting according to established procedures and protocols.
- Take appropriate action to ensure quality results / products for use by physicians, nurses, and patients.- Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and as-needed maintenance and calibrations on instruments and equipment to meet all quality requirements.
- Perform verification tests on new products, instruments, and procedures, including comparisons and statistical analysis as requested.
- Conduct quality audit data collection, assist with technical policy / procedure development, inspect, and manage donor files under laboratory management direction.
- Maintain workflow in the clinical laboratory through proficiency in testing and maintaining work areas, supply stock, and inventory management.
- Assist in the training and orientation of new associates.- Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization and adhere to service behavior standards.
- Perform other assigned duties.
