We are seeking a dedicated HVAC-R Apprentice and Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role involves assisting experienced HVAC-R technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn, a commitment to safety, and a passion for providing high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities :
Assist in Installation and Repair :
- Aid in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC-R systems.
- Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting HVAC-R equipment issues.
- Support technicians in performing complex repairs and installations.
Preventative Maintenance :
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of HVAC-R systems.
- Clean and replace air filters, check refrigerant levels, and ensure system efficiency.
- Identify potential issues and address them proactively.
Learning and Development :
- Participate in training sessions and on-the-job learning opportunities.
- Stay updated with the latest HVAC-R technologies and industry standards.
- Follow guidance and instructions from senior technicians and supervisors.
Safety and Compliance :
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure a safe work environment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
Customer Service :
- Interact professionally with clients and customers.
- Provide clear and courteous communication about service issues and solutions.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality service.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC-R systems and components.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced technicians.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in various environments, including tight spaces and heights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Previous experience or training in HVAC-R systems.
- Enrollment in or completion of an HVAC-R certification program.
- EPA certification for handling refrigerants.
- Oklahoma Apprentice Card
Work Environment :
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions.
- Exposure to loud noise, dust, and potential hazards.
- Use of hand and power tools is required.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders frequently.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
