Job Summary : We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Care Worker (DCW) to join our team. The DCW will provide essential care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a home health setting.
This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their independence.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Provide support with mobility and physical activities.
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive proper nutrition.
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments and community activities.
- Monitor and document clients' health and behavior changes.
- Follow individualized care plans and report any concerns to the supervisor.
- Foster a positive and supportive environment that encourages clients' independence.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Ability to lift and assist clients with mobility.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
