Co-Mechanic in shop will be added to a growing specialized transportation and equipment rental company based in Chattanooga, TN.
The Mechanic will be responsible for learning and engaging in the periodic maintenance and repairs of a wide variety of equipment.
Work within a team of mechanics and customers to achieve maximum production in minimum time, standards and quality in keeping with company policies, while maintaining a positive and motivated team environment.

Primary Responsibilities / Activities :
Mechanic will be trained on company-specific equipment such as RGN Trailers, Landoll Trailers, Heavy Haul Tractors, forklifts of every size, and a large fleet of specialized rigging and moving equipment.
Some on-site repairs and PMs will be the responsibility of the Mechanical Apprentice after training.
- Maintaining and repairing fleet of Versa-Lifts
- Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
- Servicing Trucks and Trailers (RGN, Flatbed, Landoll)
- Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines
- Direct and implement focused safety training and cultivate a culture of individual and team responsibility
- Document and report on damaged, worn or broken parts and develop accurate repair orders
- Utilize technology, software, and spreadsheets to document work performed and ensure accuracy of repairs
- Perform annual certifications and DOT inspections
- Schedule equipment efficiently to maximize the safe and timely fulfillment of all jobs
- Perform check-in and check-out Inspections of rental equipment
- Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines
- Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies
- Local Runs as needed to help Teammates with Deliveries and Return of Units.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Typical hours vary, but are scheduled between 7-5, Monday through Friday with Saturday or Sunday work required, as needed.

CDL-Class A, 1-year verifiable experience, preferable heavy haul experience
Clean MVR
Must pass a DOT Drug test, and agree to Background check
Basic Computer Skills
The individual must have working knowledge of procedures, strong mechanical aptitude with great problem-solving skills and the ability to follow directions.
The individual must demonstrate ability to interpret job specifications and perform work on various equipment. Must be able to follow directions and work with limited supervision.
Also, must be willing to develop other team members’ skill levels.

- Class 8 Truck and Trailer Maintenance
- Automotive diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Computer Diagnostics OBD II and J19 connections
- LP and Forklift Operations
