Forvis Mazars State and Local Tax (SALT) Practice teams with its clients as they navigate the complexities of SALT issues associated with their multi-state operations.
The SALT Practice serves clients ranging from start-up organizations to middle market companies to large multi-national enterprises.
Whether the SALT Practice is assisting companies with remaining in compliance with multiple jurisdictions or looking for opportunities for state tax savings, we have a diverse team with the capability to assist with the rapidly evolving SALT landscape.
How you will contribute :
- Developing and managing relationships with clients, prospects, and colleagues throughout Forvis Mazars to identify SALT opportunities and develop new business.
- Managing, developing, and coaching professional staff.
- Leading complex multi-state compliance engagements.
- Providing state-level support to income tax provision preparation and review under ASC740.
- Managing state and local income tax consulting engagements including nexus analyses, apportionment / revenue sourcing studies, transaction planning, and restructuring.
- Assisting with SALT controversy matters.
- Identifying SALT opportunities in the areas of sales and use tax, property tax, and credits / incentives.
- Serving as a leader in developing a SALT presence in the local market.

Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation or Juris Doctor
- 10 years or more of SALT experiencewith a large accounting firm or large corporate tax department of a multinational company
- Broad SALT experience
Preferred Qualifications :
CPA license and / or J.D. / L.L.M
