Louisiana Key Academy (LKA) is a tuition-free, public charter school dedicated to providing evidence-based instruction to students with dyslexia.

As a key member of the Baton Rouge leadership team, the School Operations Officer will be responsible for ensuring the operational excellence of the school.

This role involves fostering a strong school culture that aligns with LKA's core values and maintaining a safe, effective learning environment for all students.

Leadership

In partnership with the school leadership team, ensure all faculty / staff, students, and parents are aligned with LKA's mission, vision, and values.

Model LKA's core values and hold others accountable for consistently demonstrating these values.

• In partnership with the school leadership team, develop and communicate the school's vision and goals, setting strategies to achieve goals, regularly reviewing progress, and adapting as needed.
• Lead, coach, develop, and retain a high-performing operations team. Motivate and inspire action, commitment, and initiative while managing continual change and improvement.

Operational Excellence :

• Partner with the CFO and central finance team to develop and manage the school's operational budget. Oversee and implement established purchasing, procurement, and inventory management policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with the school's leadership team to develop the upper and lower school calendars.
• Ensure the proper management of all school facilities and vendors.
• Oversee food services for the school's campus and manage food service vendor.
• Coordinate carpool and other operational logistics.
• Recruit and hire a pipeline of guest teachers. Conduct guest teacher onboarding and training.
• Organize and manage the operations staff to ensure the front office is welcoming for all staff, students, families, and visitors.
• Oversee operations staff and technology vendors who are responsible for technology needs across campus, including equipment, software, web-based programs, and testing platforms.

Student Services :

• Partner with the school leadership team to ensure a strong, value-centered school culture.
• Lead and oversee the upper and lower school disciplinarians and the part-time social worker.
• Partner with COO & Spec. Ed Lead to manage monthly documentation, reporting, and execution of the discipline & behavior system.

Admissions & Enrollment

• Lead and develop the Operations Manager to ensure accurate management and monitoring of SIS data (PowerSchool)
• Support the upper and lower school principals in the creation and execution of Master Schedules

Compliance & Risk Management

• Prepare for and oversee annual compliance visits with LDOE.
• Partner with the Compliance Manager to assist with data and reporting.
• Manage the execution of Leap Testing Operations for grades 3rd-5th.
• Execute Crisis Management and Emergency Protocols.
• Partner with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure any legal issues are reported to the LKA Board & Board President.

Communications and Marketing :

Supervising the OA - Partner with SPED Lead and Principal to ensure alignment with Parent Engagement activities.

Preferred Experience or Credentials

• 3+ years of leadership experience - inside or outside education setting.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve established metrics and improve upon systems.
