Description

Summary : Sandwich Artist reports to the Subway Manager. The Sandwich Artist is responsible for greeting and serving our guests, prepares food as requested, maintains FoodSafety and sanitation standards, and handles or processes shift paperwork.

Assist other employees on their shift in the overall operation, cleanliness, food preparation and cash control.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications and Prerequisites :

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) or relevant experience in the retail / convenience / food service industry
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Have reliable transportation and can arrive at the store on time.
  • Has a positive attitude and is a team player.
  • Must be well organized and manages time well.
  • Possess good people skills.
  • Schedule must be flexible to include but not limited to working all shifts and all days of the week. Maybe asked to report to work early, stay late and / or work on weekends.
  • Work week may exceed 40 hours per week during hard to staff times.
  • Must be able to work alone, as well as in a group.
  • Must have good personal hygiene.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to understand and implement written and verbal instructions
  • Must be able to operate a computerized Point of Sale system / register.
  • High integrity and high work ethics.
  • Must be able to work any areas of the restaurant when needed.
  • Takes responsibility and has high standards for safety, cleanliness and food preparation.
  • Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday.
  • Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet each customer with a friendly smile and provide them with prompt courteous service and complete the customer transaction in a timely manner.
  • Abides by the company dress code and local health regulations concerning personal hygiene and practices. While on duty, wears a hairnet and apron while preparing and serving food, shirts tucked in and wears a name badge.
  • Over time, develop and maintain customer relationships by recognizing regular customers as well as new comers, learning their names, and remembering their favorite item.
  • Responsible for providing our customers with the best buying experience possible.
  • Responsible for maximizing sales and profits on their shift.
  • Follows product recipes, production procedures, proper ingredients, and correct portions
  • Consistently maintain food service cleanliness standards, including but not limited to :
  • Clean up spills. Keep all glass / guards, work surfaces and display / holding cases clean.
  • Restock condiments / supplies, keep customer food prep / sitting area stocked / clean and empty trash receptacles in the food service area.
  • Wash and sanitize all food service utensils, pots and pans.
  • Maintain all food products at proper temperatures.
  • Prepares food neatly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu items and is able to accurately explain it to our guests.
  • Exhibits a cheerful and helpful manner when dealing with guests.
  • Greets every guest when they enter.
  • Knowledgeable and have the ability to describe and explain current promotions.
  • Checks products in sandwich prep service line area and restocks items to ensure sufficient supply throughout their shift.
  • Keeps the service line and food prep areas clean and sanitized.
  • Uses the Point of Sale register system to record guests order accurately. Collects payment from guests and makes proper change.
  • Up-sells additional add-on products or upgrades.
  • Understands and adheres to all quality standards, formulas and procedures as outlined in the Subway Operations manual and training programs.
  • Accounts for all forms of money, (cash, credit, coupons) and bread during their shift.
  • Understands and adheres to proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards while preparing food, serving food and clean up,
  • Reports to work properly attired. Maintains a professional appearance and grooming standards throughout their shift.
  • Able to perform and complete all required shift paperwork.
  • Provide prompt, courteous customer service and resolve customer issues.
  • Protect Company inventory and assets at all times.
  • Report any safety incident or injury to the Manager.
  • Ability to open and close the food service operation if applicable or in case of an emergency.
  • Record on a daily basis bad merchandise / waste including bread.
  • As assigned, completes all reports and / or forms in a timely fashion with a high degree of accuracy to insure correct reporting.
  • Adhere to all company policies
  • Assists the Manager in maintaining the store in compliance during their shift.
  • Report any unsafe, damaged, or non-functioning equipment on a timely basis.
  • Help or be able to bake additional bread or cookies following the proper procedures.
  • Before leaving their shift, help prep for the next shift or day.
  • The Sandwich Artist maybe asked to participate in any other related task or activity which management determines his / her skills would be useful or needed.

  • Must be able to lift lbs.
  • Maybe required to lift objects over one’s head
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects.
  • Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
