Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift : 12-hour nights, every other weekend; first to float
Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

License : Required to submit
Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS (CCRN Preferred)
Must-Have :
- Experience with Cerner
- Experience recovering fresh hearts directly from the OR within the past 6 months
Job Description :
- Serve in a high acuity, fast-paced cardiovascular intensive care unit.
- Work with a patient ratio of 1 to 1 or 1 to 2.
- Recover fresh heart patients directly from the OR and manage conditions such as STEMI, AAA, hypothermia, sepsis, and other ICU medical / surgical patients, with a focus on cardiovascular and cardiothoracic care.
- Monitor patients using Phillips central monitors and manage ventilators such as Draeger, Hamilton G5 & Galileo, and utilize LVT transport vents.
- Collaborate with an intensivist available 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with on-call support after hours, and 24 / 7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support.
- Engage in one 12-hour orientation shift with a preceptor.
- Complete all MYJOURNEY modules prior to the start of assignment.
- Compliance with hospital policy for scrub color : Navy blue, with navy, white, or black undershirts and jackets.
- Be prepared to float to other ICUs or ER as needed for inpatient ICU holds.
- Handle assignment changes and potential floating to other units during shifts.
Additional Information :
- Holidays : Work requirement includes two out of three major winter holidays and rotates for others.
- Scheduling : Submit time-off requests before the contract begins; block scheduling is not guaranteed but considered.
- This position demands flexibility and adaptability with potential mid-shift assignment changes.
