Key responsibilities for this role include :
- Evaluating assigned patients and plans
- Implementing and documenting nursing care
- Assisting physicians during examinations and procedures
- Performing various patient tests and administering medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse
- Promoting patients' independence by establishing patient care goals
- Helping patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills
- Relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Reporting to the head of the med / surg unit
Key qualifications for this role include :
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude
- Associate's degree
- RN Certification
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the med / surg unit
