A trusted healthcare organization in the Columbus, GA area is teaming up with Team1Medical to seek a Medical Assistant who will record patient information for the physicians, maintain patient records, and perform front desk duties such as scheduling appointments and answering incoming phone calls.

Medical Assistant ’s Responsibilities

• Record patients’ vitals.
• Record and maintain updated patient records.
• Sterilize medical instruments.
• Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and collect co-payments.
• Provide patient care functions for an assigned clinical area.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational, and professional standards.
• Some duties may be delegated to the Medical Assistant by the physician or Registered Nurse

Medical Assistant ’s Qualifications

• Complete certification as a Certified Medical Assistant and graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or school is required.
• Experience working within an OB / GYN clinic is required.
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association is required.
• Must have the willingness to float between specialties.
• Strong Medical terminology knowledge is a plus.
