Job Title : Safety Manager
Location : Atlanta, GA
Duration : 6 Months (Start : 10 / 21 / 24)
Type : 1099 Contractor
Compensation :
- Hourly Rate : $50 / hr (No Per Diem)
- Pay : Weekly
Schedule :
Hours : 0700 - 1500 40-50 hours / week (weather dependent) Monday-Friday with possible Saturday work depending on project needs.
Project Scope :
The project involves oversight of formwork, turnkey concrete services, and managing various heavy civil construction activities, including excavation, trench work, and underground utility work.
This is a crucial role for ensuring that all site activities comply with established safety guidelines, industry regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications :
- Bilingual proficiency (English / Spanish)
- OSHA 510 certification
- First Aid, CPR, AED training
- Strong background in heavy civil construction, excavation, and concrete work
Principal Duties & Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive safety inspections across the worksite, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Lead employee orientations, focusing on safe practices for excavation, trenching, concrete formwork, and utility work.
- Monitor daily activities to ensure all workers are adhering to site-specific safety regulations and industry standards.
- Provide regular safety training related to heavy civil construction, particularly focusing on excavation and trench work safety.
- Enforce stringent safety protocols when dealing with trench work, underground utilities, and formwork operations.
- Maintain and review safety documentation, including incident reports, safety audits, and contractor safety correspondence.
- Collaborate with site managers and project teams to address safety concerns and implement solutions promptly.
Skills :
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to present safety protocols effectively.
- Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail in both documentation and multi-tasking.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and experience with OSHA documentation.
- Experience with safety outreach training is a plus.
- Professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive safety information.
Knowledge :
A deep understanding of OSHA standards, EHS regulations, and safety protocols, particularly related to heavy civil construction, concrete services, excavation, and trench work.
