WHAT YOU’LL DO

You will assist and support managing the recruitment and implementation of our alumni leadership and talent pipeline strategies.

You will assist with content creation and maintenance for necessary marketing, communications, and virtual events while partnering with cross-functional teams to assist with the marketing and operations of all school leadership pipeline programs.

You will manage the logistical operations for TX alumni events, including our School Leadership Learning Lab and university partner informational sessions.

You will support the development of our talent matching system by collecting information about open roles from our partner organizations and schools.

This is a highly collaborative and cross-functional role that requires a high degree of interpersonal acumen and strong communication skills, with an orientation toward teamwork.

You’ll most often support email and social media marketing campaigns, virtual event operations, communication with the Texas alumni network, and data updates in our CMR system.

The goal is to ensure that our school leadership pipeline strategy is implemented with fidelity, that we are responsive to our alumni networks' needs, and execute engaging and informative university partnership events.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR :

Operations and Logistics

Manage marketing campaigns for alumni events across the state.

Assist with requests from alumni about upcoming events, university partnership benefits, and completing scholarship applications.

Manage operations and logistics for virtual events alongside the Senior Managing Director, Alumni Leadership and Learning, and Managing Director, Talent Leadership & Development.

Update data systems (TFACT / Salesforce) when necessary, including participation information, engagements, updated employment information, etc.

Engage in responsive communication with staff and participants through email, Slack, and other digital platforms.

Support logistics for alumni events, including booking travel for alumni, managing communication with vendors, and creating travel memos for participants.

Assist with the management of employment opportunities for alumni across Texas by collecting open positions from partner schools and organizations.

Organization and Team-Wide Contribution

Collaborate with other teammates and Texas partners as needed to support ongoing operations and communications for alumni programming.

A WEEK IN THE LIFE

As a member of the Texas Alumni Team, you will be working closely with teammates across the state to execute an effective alumni engagement strategy.

You will be responsible for managing and implementing the statewide aspiring school leadership strategic priority, while also supporting other team members in their individual region.

Though your role may vary from week to week, a typical week will include :

Participating in regularly scheduled alumni team meetings to align on upcoming programming, progress to goals, and determine any necessary shifts in capacity

Scheduling and conducting 1 : 1 meetings with university, school, and organizational partners

Drafting emails and resources in response to individual alumni needs, including sharing opportunities for professional development and learning

Updating webinars and learning spaces for aspiring school leaders

Gathering information from alumni and network members to support travel and other logistical needs for alumni events

YOUR EXPERIENCE

Education

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

Experience planning and executing virtual events

Experience with marketing and recruitment

Comfortable using data systems, including Salesforce

Proficient with data collection and entry

Proficient with branding / marketing and social media, and experience using Canva and LinkedIn professionally

BONUS (preferred qualifications)

Prior staff experience with Teach For America

Skills

Strong project management skills

As part of Team Texas, you will work alongside about 40 other colleagues who are working to expand opportunities for children in Texas, especially in Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, the Rio Grande Valley, and San Antonio.

More specifically, as the MD, Alumni Leadership Development you will be on the Texas Alumni Team. The Texas Alumni Team will be led by the Executive Director Austin and consist of four total members, including the ED.

The purpose of this team is to support the individual and collective leadership of our alumni network across the state through career support, learning opportunities, and regional engagements.

As a member of the Texas Alumni Team, you will be leading a specific priority across the state, while supporting a local constituency of alumni leaders.

The Texas Alumni Team will be a collaborative and adaptive multi-regional team committed to meeting the needs of our alumni network and partners towards our 2030 goal.

YOUR COMPENSATION

The applicable salary range for each role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area.

Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands.

New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.
