Summary :

This position requires a strong skill set dedicated to identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and stewarding prospects and donors at the lead annual gift level ($25,000+) and higher.

Principal responsibilities include building collegial relationships with faculty and engaging stakeholders through events and communications and coordinating development efforts by and between UNC Health Foundation, UNC Health and the UNC School of Medicine.

The metric-driven financial targets assigned to this position are commensurate with the overarching team goal. This individual is expected to build, replenish, and carry a portfolio of up to 100 prospects and donors and will be required to meet the standard visit and proposal metrics as set forth by the UNC Health Foundation.

Responsibilities :

1.Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward gifts in support of assigned service line or program and any other enterprise-level priorities.

2.Build a pipeline of grateful patient prospects by engaging and training clinicians, nurses, administrators, volunteers, and others in the grateful patient process.

3.Work with Foundation, Service Line or Program Senior Leadership to help guide strategic direction, set priorities and enlist their involvement in philanthropic efforts.

4.Develop and implement an annual plan to secure lead annual gifts ($25,000+) in support of identified priorities.

Qualifications

Education Requirements :

Bachelor's degree required.

Professional Experience Requirements :

• Requires three (3) years of development or development related experience.
• A successful track record in soliciting and closing lead annual gifts ($25,000+) is required.
• Experience in an academic medical center, university or large college setting is preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / and Abilities Requirements :

Excellent interpersonal, organizational and presentational skills required. Superior written and verbal communication skills required.

Working knowledge of computer-related office tools and database management.

• Must demonstrate ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse constituencies, meet deadlines, be self-motivated, work independently, demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities.
• Must have a customer service-oriented attitude, and the ability to be a team player with proven relationship and influencing skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues from a variety of internal and external functional areas.
