Description
Our client is a fast-paced, dynamic, growing company. They are seeking a Sr. Accounting Manager to help lead Accounting and Operational functions of their business.
This is an on-site, full-time position in San Diego, CA.
Accounting activities include but not limited to :
- Manage and have full responsibility of full accounting cycle, general accounting functions and bookkeeping
- Manage financial health and overall business activities that include :
recording and monitoring sales, revenue, income, accounts receivable, payment of invoices, collections, and cash flow, journal entries, general ledger and balance sheet schedule maintenance, supporting schedules for financial statements preparation, sales tax compliance and job costing
- Budgeting
- Business reporting
- Manage and process CA and multi-state payroll
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting processes
- Develop ad-hoc reports as needed
- Identify and analyze trends in company's profit and loss, overall performance and advise solutions
- Present weekly finance metrics and KPI's
- Lead, manage, train and develop accounting staff in conjunction with the Controller
- License renewals
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have :
- Proven record of establishing processes, implementing procedures and streamlining workflows
- Excellent Excel skills, with advanced formulas, ability to understand and build complex workbooks
- Experience with managing the full accounting cycle, and following accounting best practices, maintaining balance sheet reconciliation schedules
- GAAP-compliant accounting knowledge
- Experience in the manufacturing or construction industry with a good understanding of cost accounting, WIP, revenue recognition
- Proficiency with Quickbooks Online or QB Desktop
- CA and multi-state payroll experience, preferably w / a certification in payroll, with good understanding of payroll tax compliance
- CA sales tax experience
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience- mentoring and leading accounting teams
- Excellent attention to detail
- Resourceful- great problem solving skills
- Pro-active management of financial health of projects and the overall business, pro-active in designing financial reports with actionable insights for the management
- Excellent communicator
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Leadership and supervisory capabilities, solid operational and technical accounting skills and works proactively to drive results.

$115,000-$120,000
