Description
Installs and checks and replaces equipment, repairs equipment, and performs preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure continuation of services and operations of systems to provide patient care in a safe and comfortable manner.
Support construction and renovation projects.
Performs a variety of tasks related to the implementation of the Life Safety and Utilities Management plans and regulatory requirements.
Performs a variety of tasks defined as Plumber skills.
Complies with Hospital and Department specific policies and procedures.
Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent is required, or higher.
Formal training in a certified or degreed vocational program, a military program or an apprentice plumber program and two (2) years of experience required (may be substituted with six (6) years of related experience practicing in the trade skill).
Ability to analyze and evaluate problems and develop resolutions that are consistent with standards of practice and applicable codes is required.
A positive attitude and the ability to work with others are required.
NFPA 99C Medical Gas Piping Certification is preferred. Minimum certification, Plumber by a National Testing Agency, is required.
A valid driver’s license and good driving record is required.
Mandatory nonviolent crisis prevention training to be completed prior to end of orientation period and maintained annually.
Preferred Qualifications :
Knowledge of NFPA, KBC, OSHA & JCAHO is preferred.
