Title : Machine Specialist
Location : Independence, MO
Salary : Starts at $ with increase to $ after successful completion of 120-day probationary period.
Schedule : 4-10s or 36 / 48 split (depending on department and availability)
Focus : The Machine Specialist is responsible for performing mechanical adjustments and repairs to high-speed automated production equipment
Machine Specialist Essential Job Functions :
- Sets up and operates machines, performs mechanical adjustments and repairs production equipment.
- Visual inspections of parts and components, including finished product while using a variety of gages, to ensure manufacturing specifications are achieved.
- Removes, installs and adjust punches, dies, eject stems, bolts, etc., using various hand tools for proper alignment.
- Pushes hand trucks and fill hoppers to keep machines supplied with materials.
Machine Specialist Minimum Requirements :
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Successfully complete and pass a Mechanical Aptitude Test.
- Advanced mechanical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience operating mechanical equipment and heavy equipment such as hand trucks or forklifts. Advanced automotive repairs and diagnostic experience or machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, saws, etc. preferred.
- Ability to use measuring devices, micrometers, calipers, and power and non-power hand tools.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, reach overheard, twist and bend at the waist, climb ladders and stairs.
- Ability to lift, carry and push up to 400 pounds, including team lifts and use of support devices (hand cart, pallet jacks, gondolas, etc.)
- Must have full vision, including color vision.
- Ability and willingness to work any shift, including weekends and overtime.
Location-Specific Requirements :
- This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
- This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
- This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with Army and Department of Defense access policies.
