Lead Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician - $7500 SOB &Shift Differential!

JOB SUMMARY To provide safe, reliable andcost-efficient vehicles by performing quality preventivemaintenance inspections and repairs as well as performing expertdiagnosis and repair as required to prevent breakdowns on road,reduce vehicle downtime and improve total fleet reliability.

Thisis a Diesel Technician Lead position. $7,500 Sign On Bonus (for newhires only) with a 2nd or 3rd shift differential SHIFT : This iseither a 2nd shift : 2pm - 10 : 30 pm Sun - Thurs.

Mentor, teachand share expertise with the fleet technician I and II to aid intheir development to positions of greater responsibility.

Expresseddesire to advance to management positions of greater authority.Demonstrates clear and concise decision-making skills related tofleet repair and availability of fleet for operations teams.

Provides clear communication and reporting to the fleet supervisoror manager on a daily basis. Perform required inspections andpreventive maintenance on vehicles within planned time tolerances.

Maximize the safety, reliability, and cost efficiency throughoutthe life cycle of the fleet. Perform FAI / CVI (Annual) inspectionsin accordance with all federal, state and local legal andregulatory agencies.

Includes all state-required inspections andfrequencies). Address all driver vehicle inspection report writeups timely, and efficiently.

Diagnose cause of any malfunction andperform repairs to manufacturer specifications including but notlimited to transport refrigeration systems, engines, transmissionsand clutches, drive-line, differential, steering and suspension,fuel and ignition system, exhaust systems (including regenerationsystems), intake systems, electrical systems, brake systems, HVACand Refrigeration systems and lift-gate hydraulic, mechanical andelectrical systems.

Follow procedures including documenting allwork performed on work order using complaint, cause, and correctionformat. Learn and develop efficiency in Sysco computer programsOperates competently within designated parameters and communicatesupward before exceeding those parameters.

QUALIFICATIONS EducationHeavy Duty truck technical training High school diploma requiredCurrent and valid driver's license (CDL Preferred, Not Required)Experience 2-year school and 4 years of experience or 5 years ofexperience in fleet maintenance and repair 1-year experience in aleadership role (preferred) Certifications, Licenses and / orRegistrations Annual Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills andAbilities Brake Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills andAbilities ASE certifications & Automotive or Medium / Heavy DutyTrucks (Preferred, Not Required) Mobile Refrigeration (EPA 608)Type II Certification preferred.

Mobile Air Conditioning (EPA 609)Certification preferred. Working knowledge of computer-baseddiagnostic software for OEM's and component manufacturers Thetechnician must provide own tools (diagnostic equipment and majortools provided by Sysco) necessary to perform all maintenancerepair and diagnostics Professional Skills Expert knowledge andskill of all vehicle systems and components Expert knowledge andskill in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems on allequipment Expert knowledge and skill in diagnosis and repair ofrefrigeration systems ( Expert knowledge and skill in PreventiveMaintenance Inspections and repair Moderate knowledge and skill inwelding and cutting (gas, electric, MIG, TIG) Moderate computerskills and knowledge Expert knowledge of all DOT (FMCSA)regulations Moderate knowledge of OSHA safety regulations Moderateknowledge of environmental regulations Physical Demands Whileperforming the duties of this job, the employee is regularlyrequired to sit, stand, walk and use hands and fingers to operate acomputer keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear.
