Carrier is seeking a highly skilled Commercial HVAC Instructional Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems and instructional design, with the ability to create engaging and effective training materials for our commercial HVAC employees.
This role will involve collaborating with subject matter experts, designing curriculums, and developing a variety of training materials to support the ongoing professional development of our employees.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive e-learning and classroom-based training for Carrier Commercial Equipment. Create learning materials to support the commercial equipment training
Interface with product experts as needed for product clarification and insight into timing of new product releases
Coordinate with Service Engineers to review commercial product training
Upload, test, and maintain version control of product training in LMS
Design, develop, and maintain the HVAC Fundamentals training series
Create engaging and interactive training materials, such as presentations, videos, simulations, and e-learning modules, to effectively convey technical concepts and procedures.
Incorporate adult learning principles and instructional design best practices to ensure training materials are effective and engaging for learners.
Utilize appropriate instructional technologies and learning management systems to deliver and track training programs.
Conduct reviews of tests to measure the effectiveness of training programs and make continuous improvements.
Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in HVAC systems and instructional design.
Collaborate with other members of the training and development team to support broader organizational learning initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
5+ years of experience in Instructional Design
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, HVAC Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience in instructional design, particularly in developing technical training materials for HVAC systems. Experience in the commercial HVAC sector is strongly preferred.
Understanding of HVAC principles, equipment, and systems commonly used in commercial settings.
Proficiency with instructional design software and tools, such as Articulate 360, Camtasia, or similar platforms.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Creative problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
Experience working with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms preferred.
Travel requirements are 10% including air and overnight travel
