Position Overview :
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join a dynamic construction team in Denver, CO. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in estimating for large-scale projects, with a proven track record of delivering accurate, competitive bids.
As a Senior Estimator, you will play a critical role in the preconstruction process, leading the development of cost estimates and providing strategic insights to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to review project plans, specifications, and scope of work, ensuring comprehensive and accurate estimates.
- Analyze historical data and current market conditions to forecast costs and assess project feasibility.
- Manage the bid process , including soliciting and evaluating subcontractor proposals, preparing bid packages, and ensuring all components of the project are accounted for in the estimate.
- Provide value engineering solutions to optimize project costs while maintaining quality and client satisfaction.
- Mentor and guide junior estimators , providing training and support to enhance the team’s overall estimating capabilities.
- Prepare and present estimates and cost reports to senior management and clients, clearly articulating the assumptions, risks, and opportunities associated with each estimate.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and construction methods to ensure estimates reflect the latest advancements and cost-saving opportunities.
Qualifications :
- 7+ years of experience as an Estimator in construction, with a focus on large-scale commercial, K12, municipal, aviation and / or federal projects.
- Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes
- Proficiency in estimating software such as ProEst, Bluebeam, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills , with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills , with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with LEED or other sustainable building practices
- Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar certifications.
