Headjoint Assembler and Polisher

The Wm. S. Haynes Company is seeking a full-time, in-house headjoint assembler and polisher. The person in this position will be responsible for the preparation and assembly of headjoint parts, as well as polishing assembled headjoints.

While experience with flute making is preferred, we will train the right candidate. This position is for the assembly of headjoints only, no flute playing experience is required.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Preparation of parts and tubes with abrasive wheels and polishing equipment
• Solder assembly of prepared parts
• Work with standard machine shop equipment
• Polish assembled headjoints using polishing equipment

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications :

• An enthusiasm for the craft and meticulous attention to detail
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience with soldering
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and make improvements upon receiving feedback
• Any prior work experience preferred
