DescriptionPosition Summary : The RN provides direct patient care by utilization of the nursing process in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Southwestern Medical Center.
Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties within the scope of practice of a RN according to the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act.
Participates in the planning, implementing, and evaluating of nursing care.Service / Quality / Excellence : * Supports hospital mission statement, philosophy, goals and objectives* Effective verbal, written, and computer communication skills* Complies with facility policies & procedures* Completes regulatory education requirements* Attends job related in-services* Attends at least 80% of department meetingsQualificationsLicensure / Certification Requirements : * Registered Nurse License issued by the State of Oklahoma or as part of a compact* BLS by end of week one* NRP (and / or obtains within 3 months of hire)* AWHONN Basic Fetal Monitoring (or equivalent) Annually (and / or by end of Clinical Nursing Orientation)* AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Biannually (and / or within 6 months of hire)* NIH Stroke Annually (and obtains by end of Clinical Nursing Orientation)* Oklahoma Rights & Responsibilities Certificate (Medical Treatment Laws Information Act) every 2 years (and obtains by end of Clinical Nursing Orientation)Education / Experience : * Graduate from an accredited nursing program* Maintains education and development appropriate for position
