Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Charge Nurse (RN) the Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) is responsible for the delivery of patient care shows evidence of knowledge of nursing theory principles and procedures and demonstrates skill good judgment excellent communication skills and good decision making in applying these principles in the clinical setting.
This position requires providing care to one or more age populations including pediatric adolescent / teen adult and geriatric population in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional / developmental age of the individual served.
This position supports the care of the psychiatric / behavioral patients in the emergency department. In addition this position supports operations including assisting with stocking supplies obtaining equipment and assisting the emergency department team within the LPT scope of practice.
Qualifications
Minimum :
- Current CA LPT License
- Current American Heart Association BLS Card
