A premier MEP engineering firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex electrical systems for a wide range of high-profile projects.
You will play a key role in shaping the electrical design strategy, managing project teams, and ensuring the successful execution of projects in sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, and institutional buildings.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the design, analysis, and specification of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage systems for various building types.
- Manage and mentor a team of electrical engineers, overseeing project delivery from concept through construction.
- Coordinate with architects, clients, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and efficient system designs.
- Conduct site visits to monitor project progress, inspect installations, and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Ensure all electrical designs meet applicable codes, standards, and regulations, including NEC and local NYC codes.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise in sustainable and energy-efficient electrical solutions.
- Assist with project budgeting, cost estimates, and procurement of electrical equipment and systems.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- PE (Professional Engineer) license preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the MEP sector.
- Expertise in power distribution, lighting, and low voltage systems.
- Strong knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing engineering teams and complex projects.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
