Job Summary
This role maintains and ensures the integrity of the design basis. The manager is responsible for providing supervision of the Design Engineering staff to ensure proper development of solutions to complex system / component problems.
The role also includes working with various manufacturers, vendors, and technical / engineering representatives to investigate system / component problems.
The manager ensures technical adequacy of all corrective actions to resolutions of system / component problems and manages the completion of these activities to support timely implementation as required to support site operations.
Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Design authority for the station.
- Provides management of the Design Engineering staff to ensure proper development of solutions to complex system and component problems.
- Responsible for overall management of all Design Engineering activities including analysis, evaluation, and modification of all structures, systems and components except fuel.
- Maintains and ensures the integrity of the design basis.
- Manages the completion of the above activities to support timely implementation as required to support continued site operation and the priorities of the Plant Health Committee.
- Provides management oversight and interface for major modifications when assigned.
- Provides oversight for the resolution of non-conformances discovered during plant operation or shutdown, preparation of evaluations to assess continued operation, and supports preparation of emergency Technical Specification changes.
- Responsible for coordination of Owner's Acceptance of outsourced engineering work.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or the Physical Sciences. (Per ANSI N18.1 -1971)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering or related areas; must include a minimum of 3 years of professional level experience in nuclear services, nuclear plant operation, or nuclear engineering (per ANSI 4.6.1).
- Requires demonstrated supervisory / leadership experience.
