Job Description : We are a rapidly growing gastroenterology office and endoscopy suite located in Northbrook and Libertyville.
As a practice, we are committed to providing exceptional medical services while creating a positive patient experience. To support our continued expansion, we are seeking a high-energy and personable Medical Assistant to join our dedicated team.
While experience is appreciated, we are more than willing to train the right candidate who is enthusiastic about learning and contributing to our flourishing practice.
Responsibilities :
- Facilitate a positive patient experience at office visits by obtaining weight, vitals, and accurately documenting health history into the electronic medical record.
- Greet patients warmly and coordinate the check-in process, including insurance verification, explanation of office policies, and billing procedures.
- Assist with answering phones and triaging calls to ensure efficient communication with patients and other healthcare providers.
- Responsible for opening and closing the office, including tasks such as locking / unlocking doors, maintaining lobby refreshments, tidying up the reception area, and reviewing messages left after business hours.
- Manage medical records, including procurement, organization, scanning into charts, and fulfilling record requests.
- Organize medical records for review by physicians prior to patient visits.
- Facilitate effective communication with referring providers to ensure seamless patient care coordination.
- Administer immunizations and perform phlebotomy as needed.
- Clean, prepare, and stock consultation rooms to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
Requirements :
- Current Medical Assistant Certification is preferred but not necessary.
- Current CPR certification is preferred but not necessary.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- 1 to 2 years of clinical office experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in computer skills and experience with electronic medical records, particularly eClinical Works, would be a bonus.
- Excellent personality, patience, dedication, reliability, and enthusiasm are crucial attributes for the person representing the face of our office.
Additional Details :
- Closed on Sundays and all major holidays.
