Associate Chief for Clinical Affairs, SFVAHCS Cardiology Division

The San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS) and the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) are seeking applications for Associate Chief of Clinical Affairs for the Cardiology Division at the SFVAHCS.

The SFVAHCS Cardiology Division is one of 3 sites within the UCSF Cardiology program.

The SFVAHCS Cardiology Division is undergoing expansion of its clinical and research programs, and is searching for a dynamic, forward-looking individual to work with the Division Chief to spearhead the program's growth.

The position will offer this individual opportunities to develop professionally in the area of academic and medical leadership.

The successful candidate will be appointed in the Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at UCSF and report directly to the Division Chief of Cardiology at SFVAHCS.

Qualified applicants will have an MD (or equivalent), current medical license, and be board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases.

The candidate will be suitable for academic appointment at UCSF at the level of Assistant Professor of Medicine or higher.

Ideal candidates will possess outstanding clinical acumen, strong leadership skills, and aptitude or experience in administration.

Excellence in medical education is desirable.

For positions that are 50% effort or more :

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5 . The minimum base salary range for this position is $121,100-$320,100.

This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

For positions that are 49% effort or less :

See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $86,500-$228,600.

For positions exclusively / partially funded by the affiliate organization :

VA salary range for non-interventional Cardiology is $305,000 - $360,000 and interventional Cardiology is $345,000 - $395,000.
