The Job Overview
We are seeking an account manager to join our team.
You will be in charge of prospecting, qualifying, and closing sales regarding our business with the top retailers in North America, like Lowe’s, Home Depot, Costco, Best Buy, Target, and Canadian Tier.
The account manager's duties will include developing new accounts as the 1 priority, maintaining existing accounts, and coordinating with the sales team.
A successful retailer-industry account manager should have related work experience in those key retailers as a buyer or merchant, be familiar with their internal buying process, have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, target-driven and result-oriented as well as the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Responsibilities
Below are some responsibilities that account managers are expected to assume :
Business development for new customers in the key retailer industry, extend our business reach inUnited States, Canada, and Mexico
Target-driven and sales result-oriented. Get through the qualification process and get the products listed for both online and in-store qualification.
Explore, plan, execute, and manage sales opportunities and projects to meet the annual sales target
Customer-centric to work with the retailer’s buyer / merchant team to ensure outstanding sales performance and a happy customer.
Develop project plans to meet client goals, objectives and collaborate with the internal team to determine product or service requirements.
Create a pleasant experience for clients by coordinating with marketing and customer service to provide solutions
Build key relationships with clients to ensure brand and project success continuously
Provide regular updates, respond to inquiries, and address any client concerns in a very timely manner
Plan, hosted, coordinate and facilitate trade shows, business events, and client meetings according to business plan and result-driven
Monitor and manage project performance
Job Qualifications and Skill Sets
Minimum of 5 years of work experience
Minimum of 3 years experience in the retail industry a buyer / merchant role. For example, Lowe’s / Home Depot / Costco / Best Buy / Canadian Tier, etc.
Familiar with the retail industry buying process and methodology
The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions
Success-driven and result-oriented with a passion
Experience creating detailed reports, giving presentations, and public speaking in trade shows and marketing events
Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field
Excellent technical and communication skills
