A week in the life of an Electrical Engineer
- Design, develop, and evaluate the operation of marine vessels, ship machinery and related equipment
- Support the USCG by reviewing third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems and components
- Perform design reviews, evaluate constructability to help resolve technical issues
- Manage information generated through the design and construction phases of multiple projects
- Create graphical representations of structures
- Inspect equipment systems
- Research advanced engineering designs and applications
Job Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering OR High School Diploma and 11+ years of relevant experience
- Ability to obtain a secret clearance.
At least 6+ years of experience in :
- Progressively responsible experience in Marine Exterior Ships Communications
- Marine systems, electrical systems, machinery control systems, power generation, distribution systems or interior communication systems.
- Knowledge of U.S. Navy Power Distribution Architectures.
- Familiarity with USN, USCG, ABS and / or commercial ship design rules and regulations.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $106,000.
Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. AMERICAN SYSTEMS provides for the welfare of its employees and their dependents through a comprehensive benefits program by offering healthcare benefits, paid leave, retirement plans (including ESOP and 401k), insurance programs, and education and training assistance.
