Talascend is seeking an Entry Level Data Technician for a contract to potential direct hire role in Tewksbury, MA.

The role will serve in support of the data collection team. The primary tasks will involve lifting of luggage and test articles up to 40 lbs, to scan on our equipment.
The individual will be trained on basic operation of the equipment, to support these efforts.
JOB DESCRIPTION :
- This job family is responsible for providing support to engineers on technical projects and / or products.
- Collects, maintains, organizes, compiles, and manipulates technical data.
- May create, build, assemble, modify and / or repair prototypes.
- Prepares engineering documentation, reports, drawings (sketches / flow charts / diagrams / schematics, etc.).
- Performs mathematical calculations per engineering specifications.
- Undertakes analyses of data where guidelines are provided.
- Recommends alternative solutions to problems and obstacles.
- May set-up and conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering analysis. (It should be understood that this is not intended to be a detailed nor comprehensive description of any individual employee's job content.
Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee.)

Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors. Exercises independent judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate approach.

- Decisions and achievements may have direct effect on project schedule.
- Interacts daily with supervisors and / or functional peer groups. Occasionally interacts with outside customers. Interaction normally involves exchange or presentation of factual information.
- Under general supervision, performs standard scientific and engineering studies for less complex work. With additional experience within one specialty, the individual is expected to assist in conducting scientific tasks such as permit applications or calibration of mathematical models for specific phases of a project of a more complex nature.
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
- High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years or related experience.
- AA degree in related discipline and 1 year of related experience.
- Familiarity working within a linux based OS is preferred.
