Senior Sourcing Manager - Product & Technology Procurement
Expedia has an opportunity for a high energy, self-motivated Senior Sourcing Manager to join our global technology procurement team, based in Seattle (HQ) or Austin.
By building positive relationship with the Product & Technology teams, you will be responsible for procurement of IT hardware & software (and related goods and services) across Expedia globally.
Using your procurement experience, and leveraging your category knowledge, you will work directly with the Product & Technology teams at all levels of Expedia.
In this role, you will be expected to develop and deliver effective category strategies and conduct activities such as RFP’s, negotiations of commercials & agreements, and ongoing vendor management to deliver continuous savings, performance, and process improvement for Expedia.

What you'll do :
- Act as a trusted adviser and Procurement subject matter expert to stakeholders across Expedia for the technology category.
- Be a strategic partner to the Product & Technology teams in your categories, throughout the sourcing process and afterwards, creating category strategies where appropriate & help to streamline the flow of projects, this will include working with our Sourcing Operation team within procurement.
- Lead and own a full range of projects from transactional to complex, within your categories, spanning across Expedia. These projects often involve working across multiple products and brands, as well as multiple geographies, to develop one Expedia solution wherever possible.
- Partner with Product & Technology teams to build, moderate to complex service requirements and scope, assist with identifying vendors, manage the entire RFx process, provide vendor evaluation framework and recommendations on vendor selection.
- For individual projects you will build, communicate, and implement work plans and timelines. Identify the required supporting efforts, dependencies, or barriers, as well as track and report on progress / issues.
- Deliver sustainable value by leading negotiations with vendors on the scope of work, commercials and contract, which will involve working with legal, finance, tax and other internal departments.
- Build and maintain vendor relationships to maximize value and to deliver a best-in-class supply chain across your categories.
- Assist with risk analysis to identify issues (financial, operational, and / or regulatory) and develop a risk mitigation strategy.
Communicate risks and alternative mitigation strategies to business owners and cross-functional partners.
- Conduct detailed category analysis. Track the competitive landscape and identify emerging vendor candidates.
- Present regularly to Executive team.
- Act as the point of contact for critical issues to both our stakeholders and other areas such as legal, finance, tax, audit.
- Support other business-related activities as needed.
Who you are :
- 10+ years of Procurement experience, including deep exposure to Technology (Software / SaaS) stacks and suppliers.
- Bachelor’s degree in business / finance, technology, or a relevant field. Master's degree preferred.
- You are a tireless advocate for Procurement and do not allow complication to derail you from showing others what Procurement can’ be.
- Great teammate, with positive attitude.
- Able to work independently while prioritizing your own time and work.
- Extensive contract negotiation and supplier management experience.
- Strong communication skills; written, verbal and interpersonal.
- Experienced in working in a global business with multiple brands.
- Experienced in redlining technology contracts and familiarity with key contract terms is essential.
- A leader in establishing and maintaining business partner relationships. Influencing skills are essential and rising to the challenge when looking after demanding business partners.
- Capable of working with abstract concepts and presenting simply and clearly to others, including C-level executives.
- Strong problem-solving, lateral thinking, project management, planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Driven by financial targets and value creation.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
The total cash range for this position in Austin is $155,000.00 to $217,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $248,000.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience.
