Our Food Service Packaging facility in Plymouth, IN is seeking a Utility, $19.48 / hr. for Day shift 12 hour rotating 6a-6p shifts.

Responsible for :

Creates starch batches, executes all material handling and fills in for other department employees by performing the following key responsibilities.

How you will impact WestRock :

  • Follow all safety procedures and promote safety & safety programs throughout the facility.
  • Read, interpret, and understand all job Jackets, Spec Sheets, skid tags and product load tags.
  • Minimize product damage through safe and careful handling.
  • Ensure all paperwork and system transactions are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain housekeeping excellence in accordance with SQF / GMP Housekeeping standards.
  • Participate in daily and weekly PMs as directed by the Dept. Manager.
  • Ensure that all paperwork and system transactions are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain housekeeping excellence in accordance with Golden Broom Program.
  • Participate and ensure department is compliant with SQF audit regulations.
  • Fill in at various department positions as directed by Corrugating Dept. Manager.
  • Must load, unload & store raw materials for use in daily production.
  • Responsible to stage rolls at the roll stands for each job to be run.
  • Responsible for producing starch batches daily to meet specifications and production requirements.
  • Must maintain accurate and detailed records of raw material consumption for starch batch creation.
  • Ability to work safely, comply with all safety rules, lift, push or pull up to 100lbs, navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift.

What you need to succeed :

  • Desired candidate will possess a minimum of a high school education or equivalent. (College a plus)
  • Ability to lift, push and / or pull up to 50lbs, navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift.
  • Must be self-starting / self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Ability to covert basic math, fractions to decimal, square foot, etc.
  • Effective communication skills and excellent coordination skills.
  • Great organizational and time management abilities.
  • Basic computer knowledge. Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings, drug test, and criminal background check.
