Short Term Housing Program : CAMBA’s Short Term Housing Program (STHP) provides 35 units of congregate and transitional housing to PLWHA who are homeless or at serious risk of homelessness.
There are 7 clients residing at CAMBA’s congregate facility located at 27 Winthrop Street and 28 clients living in community apartments (15 families and 16 singles).
Program staff will ensure that all apartments are in close proximity to public transportation and accessible to other amenities such as health care, shopping, laundry, and other necessary services.
STHP housing program provides a model of service that addresses the interrelated problems of HIV and homelessness. Through a congregate residence at 27 Winthrop, and the apartments in the community, we provide transitional housing, case management support, and housing readiness training in a supportive environment, which will help clients develop the skills to find and maintain permanent, stable housing.
Position : Part-Time Residential Aide
Reports To : Program Manager
Location : 27 Winthrop, Brooklyn, NY 11225
What The Part-Time Residential Aide Does :
- Conduct at least 9 security rounds per shift.
- Complete all security and fire logs accurately daily.
- Complete timely comprehensive and accurate incident reports for all incidents in the facility as they happened.
- Submit all incident reports for review and alert the supervisor so they can review and submit to the funder within 24 hours.
- Complete shift exchanged shifts accurately by verifying who is in and out of the facility daily.
- Attend at least on staff meeting quarterly.
- Contact supervisors anytime there is a need to involved NYPD, EMS and / or FDNY.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality.
- Respond to emergencies in an appropriate and professional manner.
- Update staff via written logs, notes, face-to-face meetings, etc.
- Observe and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.
- Control pedestrian access and traffic inside facilities to maintain order and security of people and property.
- Warn violators of rule infractions (such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles) and, under direction, requests violators to leave the premises.
Minimum Education / Experience Required :
Sufficient education and technical expertise to comprehend written and oral instructions (work orders); basic math to accomplish maintenance tasks and to document accomplished tasks.
Other Requirements :
- Good written & verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Security Guard Certificate preferred.
Compensation : $18.00 hourly
When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate.
This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and / or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.
Status : Part-Time (14 hours per week) (Saturday-Sunday 4PM-12AM)
