Position Overview :

The Direct Support Professional is responsible for providing direct care to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

This includes assistance with all daily life activities, ensuring a safe and clean living environment, participation in leisure activities and community outings and ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals served.

Key Responsibilities :

• Assist individuals in activities of daily life including bathing, dressing, toileting, eating, medication
• Ensure proper implementation of Individual Habilitation Plan / Individual Service Plan / Behavior Support Plan (IHP / ISP / BSP) as written.
• Complete clear, accurate and timely paperwork.
• Maintain a work environment that is healthy, safe, clean and comfortable.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personal information concerning individuals served in accordance to HIPAA, State, and Federal laws and guidelines.
• Provide support for individuals to participate in activities and outings of their choosing, including participation in integrated community events.
• Assist individuals in developing and following a person centered lifestyle, encouraging personal choice and self-direction.
