Investment Consulting Analyst

The Investment Consulting Analyst will be instrumental in helping investment consultants build investment model portfolios and drive in-depth investment analysis to support business needs.

In this position, you must keep up-to-date on investment strategies offered on the AssetMark platform and be able to apply the fundamentals of portfolio construction concepts in building model portfolios.

The analyst works as a team player to directly support consultants and advisors.

We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our office location in either Concord, CA, Chicago, IL, or Encino, CA.

Responsibilities :

• Development and testing of investment consulting model portfolios for lead consultant
• Prepare all reports for investment consulting cases including presentations for discussion with an advisor and the final report including commentary
• Understanding of all strategists on the AssetMark platform with the ability to develop portfolio ideas on which strategies to combine to meet specific goals
• Maintain current knowledge of Strategist portfolio positioning and performance to be able to respond to questions and identify appropriateness of use within a model solution
• Knowledge of the fundamentals and different approaches to portfolio construction
• Contribute ideas for portfolio construction, sales education, and investment thought leadership content as appropriate
• Collaborate on the research and development of content for publication
• Enhance processes and tools used for investment consulting driving efficiencies and improvements in either quality, time and / or accuracy
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities :

• Familiarity with FactSet, Morningstar, Zephyr, and Bloomberg is a plus
• Knowledge of key financial principles on portfolio construction principles and asset allocation methodologies
• Acts with confidence and completes work independently
• The ability to remain focused under pressure and control emotions
• Generate and test innovative ideas and solutions
• Exercises sound judgment and make timely, well-informed decisions
• Develops self to expand own knowledge

Education & Experience :

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Economics preferred or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years of experience in field, a plus
• CFA charter or working towards the designation certification is preferred
• Prior experience directly engaging with financial advisors on investment portfolio discussions is a plus
• Prior experience working with a sales team for investment-related discussions is a plus

Compensation : The Base Salary range for this position is between $110,000-$135,000.

This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location.

This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
