The Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute (SSIHI) is a part of the Susan & Henry College of Health Sciences and UCI Health.

The Samueli Institute works to transform healthcare through the practice of integrative health by conducting rigorous research, promoting evidence-based treatment modalities, educating the public on well-being practices, providing individualized, patient-centered clinical care and providing services to the community that focus on obtaining optimal health.

Your Role on the Team

The Program Coordinator provides administration, coordination, and support to SSIHI's various educational programs and initiatives.

The candidate will plan and coordinate educational programs for various adult learner audiences (students, health professionals, faculty, patients, and community members).

Management of current programs include, but not limited to the Health and Wellness Coaching certificate program. The candidate will ensure that annual requirements are met and educational activities which support the curriculum are maintained.

The incumbent will demonstrate initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed learners and faculty expectations.

Along with the Administrative Director of Education, the Program Coordinator will serve as program liaison with various other agencies, organizations, and groups.

Prepare a variety of documentation associated with program operations; distribute documentation and retain records as appropriate.

Maintain computerized and hard-copy files of program records as necessary. Develop processes to improve task efficiency by standardizing formats for routine correspondence and identify areas for improved efficiency.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required :

  • Basic knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of health professions education industry.
  • Basic knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Acquiring skills in developing and implementing processes and systems.

Familiarity with the administrative and operational implications in a program.

Communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Service oriented and responsive to questions and requests.

Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within department and with learners.
  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars / schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision.
  • Knowledge of educational technology and systems. Ability to troubleshoot and triages related technology issues.
  • Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills. Ability to generate computer reports, checking for errors, correcting and submitting accurate reports.

Skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronic systems.

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of planning and organizing educational programs and events.
