Manager - LAN / Wireless Product Engineering and Ops

Network Platform Manager LAN / Wireless is an engineering lead who will oversee the engineering, delivery and operations for ADUSA’s local area networks and wireless platforms which spans across all retail brands, corp offices, distribution centers, data centers and warerooms and will have responsibility for supporting the multi-year strategy to transform the LAN and Wireless architecture, and all associated technologies.

Under his / her direction, the team has responsibility for the 24 / 7 delivery of all shared communication infrastructure, incident restoration, MSP and supplier management, and maintain secure LAN / Wireless connectivity services for all brands.

This role will act as a subject matter expert in all LAN and Wireless technologies managing and overseeing the implementation and delivery of redundant, secure, and high performing software defined LAN and wireless infrastructure and related technologies.

This Leader ensures that the wireless and LAN connections for all devices connected across retail locations, corporate offices and / or distribution centers can meet and exceed the performance and availability requirements set by the business.

This leader will oversee the operations, repairs, and improvement of LAN and wireless networks and will participate in day-to-day operations and troubleshooting efforts, working with external RBS partners and internal customers.

This role will work closely with other network platform and product teams to create solid implementation and operations strategies.

This leader will champion proactive mindset and thought leadership to meet and exceed user and customer experience expectations leveraging high density / high performance wireless across the enterprise and retail footprint.

This leader will use broad knowledge of and experience in information technology at large, with a firm understanding of related disciplines and how they interoperate with network hardware and software devices and how to maintain technical alignment with all stakeholders for seamless network operations.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage network operations for all Cisco / Aruba LAN and Wireless platforms and associated technologies by overseeing all aspects of network engineering and delivery, including working with managed services providers on day-to-day operations and driving opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Oversee the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of complex heterogeneous networks and related equipment for all wireless and LAN connections.
  • Act as a point of escalation for all LAN / Wireless platforms in the incident management process, assisting in reviewing incident and problem data and driving continuous improvement
  • Manage MSP SLAs for large and complex network environment with 55k+ network assets
  • Manage and influence analysis of business requirements to ensure that solutions meet established networking and company policies and controls
  • Evaluate current systems and implement procedural or technical changes to address challenges and / or determine the need for upgrading network assets.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for the overall management of the network infrastructure as part of the LAN and Wireless services portfolio.

Detail and process-oriented thinker that carefully documents work and follows defined processes, while at the same time offering feedback for how processes can be improved

  • Help conceptualize new network hardware and software products and services.
  • Review and establish documentation and procedural standards and ensure these standards are being met and documentation is being maintained.
  • Oversee that project are delivered on time and within budget.

Leadership

  • Build, manage and lead a team of LAN / Wireless Platform engineers, ensuring both project commitments and operational SLAs are being met, day-to-day priorities are managed, and expectations are clearly set with network services internal customers and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop infrastructure lifecycle management strategies to manage LAN / Wireless performance, capacity, availability, reliability and new service introduction of network infrastructure services.
  • Demonstrated leadership and technical mastery across all aspects of the infrastructure portfolio listed
  • Proven ability to partner with infrastructure, security, application, and business leaders to provide technology solutions that respond to rapid changes in the business and ensure exceptional end-user experience.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, network technologies or a related field

  • Strong communication skills
  • Very good technical foundation in networking (CCNA / CCNP / CCIE level equivalent)
  • Very good knowledge of L2&L3 technologies
  • Experience with setting up a distributed network setup in the lab and working closely with the team to maintain and support the lab for network design and testing
  • Hands on experience with IP subnetting, Telnet / SSH Clients, Raritan or Terminal Server Remote Access, ServiceNow, COS, VoIP and MPLS technologies, and Cisco network software (COS / IOS), inventory / maintenance tracking and vendor support case handling
  • Key Skills : communication, network design and setup, IP subnetting, L2&L3 technologies

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Masters’s degree with 10+ years of direct experience working in large scale networks
  • Holds certifications CCIE (Cisco), CCNP (Cisco), Aruba, Zscaler and Fortinet
  • Experience working in an agile (SAFe) environment.
