Summary : Recovery Support Specialist . The role of the Recovery Support Specialist is to engage participants in the Bridges to Recovery, Hope, and Home program and to deliver screening, assessment, case management, and recovery support interventions.
A basic assumption of CLARE’s service philosophy is that client relapse and decompensation are anticipated due to the chronic nature of behavioral health disorders.
Through assertive case management, including, phone calls, service accompaniment, and development of a mutually caring relationship with the client, the Recovery Support Specialist will work to shorten these episodes in length and intensity.
This position will provide rapid response to warning signs to prevent relapse and homeless recidivism, providing crisis counseling and intervention.
This is a full-time position that is 100% devoted to recovery support for grant participants . The range of pay for this position is $20-$23 per hour.
Major Areas of Responsibility (Essential Job Functions) :
Engage with each participant with respect and compassion while maintaining healthy boundaries.
Complete SAMHSA GPRA measurement tool and additional assessment s in a timely manner.
Accurately enter and monitor participant data spreadsheets.
Conduct individual sessions with active participants on and off site.
Complete case management for each participant including relapse prevention plan and bi-weekly session notes .
Support participants with recovery related activities including, but not li mited to service accompaniment, relapse preventi on interventions, life skills, and whole person self-care.
P resent on each participant’s status during staff meetings .
Support team efforts in outreach and retention.
Work and develop relations between CLARE MATRIX and its partners.
Contribute to a healthy wok environment by participating in meeting and team building activities .
Knowledge, Experience & Skills :
A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, or Psychology required; Master’s degree is highly preferred .
Working knowledge of MS Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook.
Ex cellent organizational, verbal and written skills .
Must have reliable transportation .
Possess an understanding of issues related to substance abuse and mental health .
Ability to work with diverse populations.
Lived experience is preferred.
Physical Demands :

This job will be primarily located at the CLARE MATRIX offices , in Santa Monica, CA. While performing the responsibilities of the job, these work environment characteristics are representative of the environment the job holder will encounter.
