Certified Nursing Assistant - Ambulatory Surgery Center
Description
Certified Nursing Assistant to work in an ambulatory surgical center setting.
Reports to : Director of Nursing
Qualifications :
Current Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant certification required.
BLS required
Minimum of two years patient care experience required.
Occupational Exposure :
Category I exposure to bloodborne pathogens, frequent exposure to chemical hazards and may encounter radiation hazards.
Responsibilities :
- Observes and reports patient’s status and needs.
- Answers call lights and attends to / reports patient needs.
- Transfers, moves and repositions patients, as needed.
- Monitors and records patient’s vital signs like heart rate, pulse temperature and blood pressure, as needed.
- Assists physicians and nurses during examination and treatment of the patient.
- Makes occupied and unoccupied beds.
- Cleaning patient areas, including mopping, wiping and disinfecting.
- Maintains current knowledge and certification requirements.
- Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his / her responsibilities related to general safety, department / service safety and specific job-related hazards.
- Respects and regards the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.

- The employee must be able to lift and / or carry over 20 pounds on a regular basis and be able to push / pull over 75 pounds on a regular basis.
- The employee must be able to stand and / or walk up to 10 hours per day.
