Job Specific Responsibilities :
- Exercising accounting control over a group of general ledger accounts
- Recording, analyzing and interpreting financial transactions and communicating results to management
- Reconciling general ledger account balances
- Creating financial statements or other reports in conformity with GAAP or other regulatory standards
- Researching technical accounting issues and assisting in new standard implementations
- Assisting in coordination of external audit
- Serving as a subject matter expert on projects which require specialized accounting knowledge, research, and application of assigned areas
- Making recommendations to management for problem resolution
- Using various software applications such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and / or format data and / or reports
- Performing additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in accounting or closely related equivalent required.
- Two to four years of related accounting work experience preferred.
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
- GAAP research experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational, computer, and communication skills are required.
