Job Description :

This job is responsible for serving as a finance partner to specified Lines of Business (LOBs) and providing financial analysis and guidance to support key decisions and initiatives.

Key responsibilities include performing forecasting, profitability analysis, expense efficiency, pricing, financial reporting, and generating value creation ideas and new investment business cases.

Job expectations include preparing insights to guide management's decision making and evaluating financial performance versus plans, forecasts, and prior periods.

Responsibilities :

  • Evaluates Lines of Business (LOB) financial performances and assists with decision making by synthesizing key trends, assessing current and future business risks, and preparing, analyzing, and reporting on financial results and key metrics
  • Develops financial management reports, presentations, and ad hoc analyses for LOBs and / or finance partners
  • Creates forecasts and budgets by comparing current performance against plan, prior periods, prior forecasts, and budgets and evaluating current and future performance trajectory
  • Supports reporting and analysis for key constituents and management, which may include Board of Directors, Investor Relations, and / or various regulatory agencies
  • Collaborates with teams across the Finance division to ensure integrity of the financials, sound controls, and efficient and effective procedures
  • Supports new and ongoing projects and strategic initiatives by creating processes to automate key reporting capabilities and delivering on process improvements and simplifications to enable increased focus on strategic priorities

The Enterprise Credit and Global Banking Risk (ECGBR) Chief Operating Office is looking for a hands-on Risk Analyst to support the quarterly allowance and credit risk reporting processes, committee reporting and governance, and macroeconomic analysis for the Company's allowance for credit losses.

The role requires analyzing and reporting routine, as well as evolving, credit risk topics, and helping to prepare materials for senior management.

The role will largely support the macroeconomic scenario design and governance for allowance scenarios, providing an opportunity to understand the economic landscape and assess the impacts to our portfolio.

But the candidate will also help to support other key priorities for the ECGBR organization, including (i) supporting key messaging and deliverables related to the overall credit story for the company, (ii) monitoring ECGBR's single process inventory, and (ii) providing other ad hoc business support services across the organization, providing opportunity to the analyst to interact with senior members of ECR.

A successful candidate will have an interest in contributing to the holistic and strategic picture of the allowance for credit loss process, including associated governance processes, be intellectually curious, and have ability to translate complex concepts into actionable insights for management committees and regulators.

The position will provide a well-rounded, balanced role with opportunities for interaction with risk and finance partners as well as senior management.

Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills are required.

Required Qualifica and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required, (accounting, finance, risk a plus)
  • 3+ years of experience in a financial institution in risk / governance / analytics
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to connect dots
  • Ability to work on multiple deliverables and respond to time-sensitive requests
  • Attention to detail and organization
  • Teamwork : foster collaboration among team members and business partners throughout the enterprise
  • Communication : clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of channels to individuals or groups in a way that engages and impacts the audience
