Qualifications
Clinical Nurse Educator Requirements :
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida
- Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS provider, instructor certification within 6 months of hire
- Minimum of 5 years nursing experience in acute care setting
- Minimum of 1 year recent experience as an Educator in an acute care setting
- Critical Care experience required
- ED experience preferred
- BSN required. MSN preferred
Role and Responsibilities
The Clinical Educator for Critical Care will be responsible and accountable for the planning, organizing, and evaluation of orientation for new employees and ongoing education for all employees of the Stepdown, ICU, ED and FED Departments.
Assists with planning, organization, and coordination of all operational activities within the department. Coordinates and teaches the critical care course three times per year.
Provides input for hiring, evaluating, and termination process of employees. Involved in policy and procedure development, compliance with OSHA / TJC / AOA / DOH regulations, compliance with hospital rules and regulations, and implements the Performance Improvement process.
The Clinical Educator Critical Care is accountable to the Staff Development Director.
