Job Details
- RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.
- RATIOS : 1 : 5-6
- Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks+ up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the Unit through the Holidays!
- 36 hrs only
- SHIFT : 12HR DAYS
- Travelers are required to work every other weekend
- RTO -7 DAYS MAX if RTO includes weekends, time will be added to end of contract to make up for those dates.
- Float Requirement : Floating Required : floating required to any other MS / Tele areas, may include COVID care units. If the traveler calls in for a scheduled weekend shift, we will need to have them make up the weekend shifts based on the needs of the unit.
Frequent floating may be required.
- PATIENT DIAGNOSES : We care primarily for Stroke patients, but also care for possible Neurosurgery patients as well as other Neuro diagnoses, such as Epilepsy, Traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, and many more
- SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS : We have a 4 BED Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) that is considered Intermediate level and that nurse has 4 : 1
- 42 daily census. 43 rooms / beds
- UNIT SYSTEMS : PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR
- SCHEDULING TYPE : Preferred Scheduling
- If a traveler calls out of a shift, they are expected to make up that day the same week or at the end of their contract.
- UNIT ORIENTATION : 36 Hours
- SCRUBS : Navy
Job Requirements
- Minimum Years of Experience : 1 Year Experience in MedSurg
- Traveler Experience : Unit WILL NOT Accept 1st Time Travelers (Must have at least 1 year of travel experience. Prefer 2 years previous travel experience)
- Locals Accepted / Rate Difference : Yes
- Skills : IV Start and Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias and Management of dysrhythmias, Med / Surg neuro EXPERIENCE
- Certs : BCLS, NIH, NIHSS, ACLS (preferred, not required)
- PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP :
- Certs : ACLS
- Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty
- Block scheduling is not always going to be able to be guaranteed
- MUST HAVE MED / SURG EXPERIENCE

- AHA or American Red Cross Only. AHA-RQI and AHA instructor cards are acceptable.
- CL When qualifying, please access the Unit Description to review the required certifications.
- For techs, allied and non-clinical, certifications will now also appear in the UD but please reach out to your TL if these are not populating.
Continue to utilize the allied licensure report in addition to the UD for license and tech cert requirements.
