Graphic Designer Long Term Contract (1099)

MapR is looking for a talented contract Graphic Designer to join our Creative Team in a long-term contract position. The ideal candidate is passionate about visual storytelling, driven, highly organized, and possesses strong attention to detail.

Applicants must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage time efficiently, work on multiple projects concurrently, present and defend concepts and ideas to internal marketing team members, and communicate exceptionally well.

This person must maintain flexibility and the ability to adapt, learn quickly, and take direction which are all huge keys to success in this role.

The role reports to the Creative Director and is based out of Santa Clara, CA.

• Be able to present creative work in a variety of settings.
• Adhere to and help build on approved typography, photography, graphic, and brand standards.
• Develop and execute unique concepts, designs, and layouts for digital and print marketing.
• Ensure our design vision is maintained and deliverables are completed on the requested deadlines.

• Well-versed in the CS Suite, primarily Illustrator and Photoshop.

• Strong conceptual thinking skills.
• The confidence and skill to communicate your ideas clearly.

• You’re a lifelong learner, always up on the latest trends and tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field preferred or 3-5 years of equivalent relevant work experience.
• Ability to turn around projects within a 24 - 48 hour period; typical delivery is three days.
• Solid or expert-level knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software (especially Photoshop and Illustrator).
• Strong understanding of web design best practices, digital ads, responsive design, information hierarchy, graphics creation.
• Knowledge of digital art and illustration, comfortable drawing custom vector graphics & icons.
• A solid portfolio that you are proud to share with us is a MUST.
