Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, an international law firm, is actively recruiting a Sr. Business Development Analyst in our Washington office.
This position supports the business development efforts of the Administrative Law Group. Works closely with the Senior Team Manager, team leadership and Administrative Law team members (attorneys and staff), and other members of the Marketing and Client Development Team to develop and execute firm business development initiatives.
Independently analyzes viability of potential business development activities, develops marketing collateral, and provides recommendations to management to advance the business objectives of the firm and our clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Conducts independent research on clients and prospective clients. Prepares competitive analysis and other research for use in identifying and responding to business opportunities and industry trends.
- Proactively identifies and recommends strategic business development opportunities for the firm, specifically to the Administrative Law team and attorneys.
Consults with attorneys to identify individual and practice group business objectives; recommends business development opportunities to achieve those objectives and drafts written business development plans as needed.
- Manages the team's ongoing updates of website bios and practice descriptions.
- Takes primary role in the development of client- and prospective client-related pitch materials, communications and presentations for attorney review.
Documents and maintains proposal-related information for future reference.
Takes lead responsibility for preparing and coordinating responses for client requests for proposals for legal services.
This includes coordination with lawyers across the team and various departments within the firm.
- Develops and compiles information to highlight individual attorney's and practice group's expertise to be used for award submissions and league tables, such as Chambers, Legal500, Benchmark Litigation and Law360.
- Identifies, recommends and directs development and production of other communications, including blog posts, client alerts and collateral materials in support of business development activities.
Works closely with the Marketing & Client Development team and other departments across the firm to ensure quality communications.
- Manages the team's blogs and social media presence. Coordinates with the Marketing Communications team on campaigns and branding.
- Performs special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education : High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
- Experience : Minimum of 4 years of job related experience required, preferably in a law firm, professional services or other client relationship-based organization.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
Other Qualifications : Travel may be required. Availability and willingness to work hours as needed to meet critical deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications. Strong commitment to client service excellence and teamwork. Must possess the highest standards of ethical conduct and professionalism.
Must act as catalyst for change, drive and own results. Creative and innovative. Excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening) and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse group of professionals.
Sound judgment and flexibility. Ability to work well under pressure, patience, diplomacy, high stress tolerance, excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing conditions.
Visual acuity needed to process and read extensive written communications. Ability to receive and convey detailed information through oral communication.

The expected salary range for Washington, DC based employees is $106,200 to $170,200, though salaries for employees based outside of Washington, DC may differ.
Beyond an employment candidate's physical location, salary offers may be based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, training and / or experience.
