Maximum Security Products Corp. (MSP) is a Waterford, NY-based Detention Equipment and Miscellaneous Steel contractor and manufacturer.

MSP is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join their team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Proficient in machine operation
• Loads raw materials and unloads completed parts
• Required to operate multiple machines simultaneously
• Performs inspection of own parts and co-worker's work
• Follow instructions when selecting appropriate tooling and fixtures
• Uses measurement tools i.e., and other measuring instruments
• Adjusts tooling & work offsets.
• Minor editing of the current program
• Able to run select machines in the department
• Able to make adjustments to ensure dimensions, tolerances, and quality of parts
• Utilizes DFX, QMS, MAX & SPC databases as needed
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment including top-off lubricants
• Cleaning responsibilities include equipment, chip removal, and work area
• Follows established procedures as well as quality and safety standards
• Maintains a safe work environment
• Works under supervision
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Knowledge and Skills Required :

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of machining experience preferred or a recent certificate in precision machining or related field
• Good working knowledge of trigonometry, geometry, basic math, and measuring instruments
• Basic understanding of G&M programming codes
• Good understanding of machining practices
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Motivated and shows a willingness to learn
• Team player who works in cooperation with others
• Demonstrates a strong mechanical aptitude.

Desired skills and experience :

• Experience operation Cincinnati and Komatsu CNC machines strongly preferred

• 8-hour shift

Work Environment :

Machine shop environment which may require the use of industrial hearing protection and / or other personal protective equipment.

Physical Demands :

• Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
• Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
• Occasional lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
• Quantitative / mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
