About The Position
Job Title : Physical Therapy Assistant Job Specialty : Acute Physical Therapy Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 8-hour days Guaranteed Hours : 40 per week Experience : Greater than 1 year of experience;
travel experience preferred License : Current LA PTA license Certifications : Must-Have : - Ability to manage a case load independently- Experience with a range of patient types- Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team Job Description : Treat patients with conditions such as spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, amputations, multiple traumas, hip fractures, bilateral knee replacements, post-cardiac surgery, and patients recovering from COVID-19.
- Assist in caring for medically complex and debilitating patients in acute settings including post-cardiac and post-orthopedic procedures.
- Support outpatient care with general orthopedic cases, sports medicine, developmental pediatrics, neuro-specific diagnoses, and spinal treatments.
- Deliver skilled nursing care for conditions similar to inpatient rehabilitation.- Utilize Meditech Expanse and Wellsky for charting in various care settings.
- Collaborate with a supportive team including a supervisor and assistant director.- Participate in a comprehensive hospital, departmental, and site-specific orientation across 2-3 days to prepare for a full case load by the end of the initial week.
- Follow a no week-end rotation for outpatient services, with inpatient rehabilitation and acute care participation once per month.
- Adhere to expectations regarding holiday and on-call duties as discussed during interviews.- Maintain professional appearance in pewter scrubs for inpatient settings or professional dress for outpatient care.
Ensure all vaccinations are up to date and familiarize yourself with exemption procedures where necessary.
