Job Description

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a Radiological Controls Technician (RCT) to join our Radiological Monitoring team in West Milton, NY!

The RCT is an integral team member performing surveillance of radiological work areas to detect and document the level and type of ionizing radiation / radioactivity in accordance with radiological control regulations.

The RCT will perform and document air, water, solid, and surface radioactivity / radiation surveys using instruments designed to detect type and level of activity.

The RCT also determines usage and maintenance of nuclear containment apparatus, and responds to radiological incidents to ensure employee and environmental safety. Apply today!

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

• High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; orHigh school diploma or equivalent and qualification as a Naval Nuclear Propulsion Operator (or commercial nuclear equivalent) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience;
• orAssociate's degree from an accredited college or university or Journeyman's papers or vocational certificate in a related field, or successful completion of RCTQS and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience;

orBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience as a NNPP Article 108 Radiological Controls Technician (RCT)
• Strong time management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Pay Range

$83,600.00 - $130,700.00 annually
