BS or advanced degree with major studies in Foods and Nutrition or Dietetics
Scheduling Requirements :
- Day Shift
- Per Diem (schedule will vary based on the needs of the department)
Essential Functions :
- Confers with physicians, nursing and case management as related to total patient care. Attends patient care conferences
- Demonstrates the ability to identify patient nutrition needs
- Demonstrates the ability to identify what the patient’s needs are
- Documents all pertinent information in the patient's medical record in a timely manner according to departmental policy
- Helps plan and implement nutrition projects for the community through services such as speaking engagements and classes
- Instructs patients / families on appropriate diet therapy
- Participates in the interdisciplinary patient teaching process
- Participates in the managerial and administrative functions through self-directed team work
- Performance improvement and data collection for quality indicators as designated
- Provides lectures and education for nursing and medical staff when appropriate
- Reviews medical records, assesses patient needs and implements an appropriate nutritional care plan to provide optimal care
