Minimum 1+ years intrepreter experience required.
As a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) at VocoVision, your role will profoundly influence communication for students in schools.
Collaborating closely with teachers and other professionals, you'll help foster an inclusive environment for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
SLI Requirements :
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- EIPA certification with a score of 3.5 or higher.
- RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) certification.
- NIC (National Interpreter Certification) certification.
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
SLI Job Description :
- Providing sign language interpretation during classroom instruction and various school activities.
- Facilitating communication between students, educators, and other school staff.
- Collaborating with the educational team to ensure the inclusion and success of students with hearing impairments.
- Adhering to ethical standards and confidentiality in all interpreting assignments.
- Supporting individualized learning plans for students with hearing-related needs.
- Participating in professional development and training opportunities as needed.
