The Manufacturing Solutions Analyst is an individual contributor responsible for providing technical expertise and participating in or overseeing a variety of analytical and technical assignments, problems diagnosis and solutions, documentation, implementation, administration, support, and maintenance on a variety of software and application components in an information technology applications environment.
The role is broadly split between providing day to day operational support for existing application services to users of those services and project-based work leading to the development and deployment of new application services and business process improvements in a manufacturing environment.
The successful analyst serves as a liaison between other technical staff, management, users and vendors regarding service requests, usage, standards, security, and other technical issues and provides both on-site and remote access diagnoses and resolution of software, application, and business process problems.

What You’ll Do
- Lead / Participate in the design, development, and enhancement of business specific custom and standard applications.
- Lead / Participate in requirements gathering to provide technical guidance on systems options and solutions.
- Oversee promotion of configuration / development changes through environment (i.e., write functional specifications, perform and / or coordinate testing, obtain customer approvals and supporting documentation and support promotion of code / configuration to production) to meet Armstrong’s business objectives.
- Manage / coordinate large, medium, and small systems or business projects.
Additional Responsibilities
- Researches, analyzes, develops, and documents new processes and procedures to implement and update solutions to meet business needs.
- Develop and manage relationships with vendors in support of staff augmentation and systems support in concert with Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process.
- Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of best-practice standards, policies, procedures, and associated training plans to ensure optimal daily operations are maintained.
- Provides integrated systems planning and recommends new or different technologies which will enhance current systems and support overall corporate and business goals.
- Leads and directs multiple projects managing resources and monitoring progress.
- Establish / maintain lines of communication with stakeholders with a view to keeping all parties informed of incidents, problems, and resolution.
- Identify opportunities to improve global standardization and organizational efficiencies.
- Serve as a point of escalation for team member’s issues requiring a higher degree of expertise or discretion to resolve and ensure timely resolution of issues by focusing on root cause analysis and implementing corrective action plans.
- Assist in the development of Plant IT budgets (expense and capital) and estimates.
- Provides in-depth technical consultation to clients and Plant management to ensure development of efficient application systems utilizing established standards, procedures, and methodologies.
- Assist in the recruitment and selection of project resources as required.
- Work collaboratively with management to identify and prioritize projects in the portfolio associated with the maintenance of existing systems, development and implementation of new systems, resolution of more complex problems and the evaluation of emergent technologies through developing business cases that include options, recommendation, cost / benefit, and risk analysis.
- Researches and evaluates new and / or alternative solutions and technologies to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce costs.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of multi-year functional roadmaps for assigned disciplines.
- Contribute to the development of overall strategy, tactics, planning and execution of initiatives to support Plant IT services.
- Document necessary technical design and analysis work, including project postmortem documentation and metric collection.
- Maintain application documentation and process topology to ensure alignment between the business strategies and the technology roadmap.
What will make you successful
- Working knowledge of usability methodologies and best practices; Demonstrated knowledge of .NET, SharePoint, SQL / SQL Server, Power BI, HTML, Windows Forms, Web Services and XML;
- Knowledge of scripting languages : JavaScript, Linux / Unix Shell Scripting, Windows PowerShell; Understanding of portal architecture design;
Experience with versioning and change control software (Team Foundation Server (TFS) / Azure DevOps preferable).
- PC hardware troubleshooting skills (DST), mobile device support (Android, iOS).
- Demonstrated experience in area of assigned responsibility.
- Working knowledge of technologies commonly utilized in a manufacturing environment.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details in business language and relate technical concepts to a business impact.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field required.
- 3+ years of technical analysis or process management experience.
- Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Broad technical grasp of application architecture preferred in a manufacturing environment.

About the location (Pensacola FL)
Our Pensacola Plant, one of twelve Armstrong plants in North America, employs 200+ people working on rotating shifts, 24 / 7, in the manufacture and shipment of acoustical ceiling tile to Armstrong's customers worldwide.
The Pensacola Plant was originally built in 1929 to produce insulating building material.
